So I have officially started University at Edinburgh Napier doing the Television degree and so far it's been very enjoyable. A big change from college but nonetheless I feel that I am into the swing of things now. We were out last Friday capturing footage for our first one-minute interstitial about the street performing talent to be found on the Royal Mile. It should be released in a few weeks time.
Then last Saturday I was part of a production team that were managing the social media page for OxJam
Edinburgh, this is a music festival held for OxFam. The video above was the one I helped shoot. Four videos were produced throughout the day which was impressive given the time frame.
Finally and most importantly for our TV Factual Production Module we have to produce a 15 minute factual program. In my team we have decided to make a documentary called "The Goodbye Gang" here is the premise:
"Every year in Edinburgh people are buried with no friends or family. This is the story of Rev McAspurren and his band of merry mourners whose mission is to ensure that no one dies alone."
"The Goodbye Gang" is a heart-warming insight into a unique local Edinburgh community demonstrating universal human values that will resonate with anyone that has ever lost a loved one.
Production for this is about to begin at the end of this month so stay tuned for it's release in December. In the meantime please like our Facebook page here. I must say this is a very interesting and different project from anything I have worked on before, I will update you on it's progress.
