Production on the currently "Untitled Multiple Sclerosis Documentary" is now over and Post-Production has just begun!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Aileen & Simon Hunt so much for being amazing contributors and for all the access they have allowed me to have into their lives. They have been incredible and I look forward to sharing their story through this documentary.
I wish them both all the very best of luck for the rest of Aileen's Stem Cell Treatment for her MS! Also a big thanks to Clinica Ruiz and all the fantastic staff there who made us welcome and allowed us to film in and around their Clinic in Puebla, just outside Mexico City.
Also a huge thanks as well to my fantastic crew! Kirsten MacGregor, Matt Jones, Georgina Richardson and Gordon Menzies (my Dad!). We were up in the Isle of Lewis at the end of January working on the Production about Aileen’s journey to getting Stem Cell treatment for her condition.
Whilst there filming in the snowy and blizzard conditions on the Island was quite an experience!
Contrasting that with two weeks later in the bright sunshine of Mexico was absolutely incredible. My Dad and I travelled over together to capture the second part of the Documentary. I have never been abroad to film anything before which was a big step for me and one I learnt a lot from.
I couldn't have done any of it without Gordon (my Dad) who luckily speaks fluent Spanish and was my translator for the week in Mexico! Unfortunately due to the language gap I spent a lot of my time barely speaking to many of the locals. So thanks Dad for sorting all the transport amongst other things!
As I was flying over Mexico City for the first time I looked down and genuinely couldn't believe I was actually there.
Realising that I was indeed there because last Summer I had found a newspaper Article about Aileen's fundraising (BIDS to halt the progression of my MS) it was a bizarre moment and really made me realise how special this project has been to me.
I have recently sat down and began the editing so please watch this space.
